Serena Williams is one of the most renowned female tennis players in the world. She won her first Grand Slam singles title at the U.S. Open in 1999 and went on to win four consecutive Grand Slam singles titles - the 2002 French, Wimbledon, and U.S. Open titles, and the 2003 Australian Open title - all against her older sister, Venus. In 2003, a knee injury forced her to take an 8-month break from tennis. She reached the Wimbledon final in 2004, but has not won a major title since then.
