Konnie Huq, born Kanak Asha Huq or কনক হক, had her beginnings in London, England, where she was born to Muslim Bangladeshi parents. As a child, she got her first big break as a guest on the BBC children's television programme Blue Peter. She also appeared on the game show Blockbusters as a contestant, the sitcom 2point4 Children playing a schoolchild, and Newsround as an interviewer. She is best known for being the longest serving female presenter on Blue Peter. She is married to comedian and writer Charlie Brooker.
