Katharine Hope McPhee is an American pop singer, songwriter, and actress who rose to fame as the runner-up on the fifth season of American Idol. She has released four albums to date, her self-titled debut album in 2007, Unbroken in 2010, Christmas Is the Time to Say I Love You in 2010, and an upcoming album expected to be released in early 2014 under Columbia Records. Her debut album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, selling 381,000 copies, while her second album debuted at number 27 on the Billboard 200 and has sold 45,000 copies. Her third album debuted at number eleven on the Billboard Top Holiday Albums chart and has sold 23,000 copies. Her single "Over It" was a Pop Top 30 hit and was certified gold in 2008, and her single "Had It All" peaked at number 22 on the Billboard AC chart. McPhee has also established an acting career, co-starring in The House Bunny and Shark Night 3D, and playing one of the lead roles on the NBC series Smash and the CBS series Scorpion.
