Anaïs Aude Marie Michèle Demoustier, born on September 29, 1987 in Lille, is a French actress. Anaïs Demoustier grew up in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, born to a father who was a commercial manager in the large distribution native of Lyon and a stay-at-home mother from Lille. She has two sisters, Camille and Jeanne, and a brother, Stéphane, who introduced her to and made her love cinema. Still a teenager, she auditioned and started alongside Isabelle Huppert in Michael Haneke's Le Temps du loup (2002). From then on, she followed the cinema-audiovisual section at the Sainte Thérèse-d'Avila high school in Lille. She came to Paris after her baccalaureate in 2005 to do a degree in letters and cinema at the University of Paris III-Censier but quickly abandoned it to take on secondary roles in cinema as well as in theatre. She was then spotted for more important roles such as in La Belle Personne, where she was surrounded by a series of young French actors including Louis Garrel and Léa Seydoux. She was then nominated twice for the Césars in 2009 and 2011. From 2011, she won several awards, including the Romy-Schneider Prize. She then continued to work with directors such as Claude Miller, Pascale Ferran or Bertrand Tavernier. In 2013, she reunited with Robert Guédiguian as well as his actors Ariane Ascaride and Jean-Pierre Darroussin whom she had already met several times. In 2014, she was featured in François Ozon's new film Une nouvelle amie. She reunited with Raphaël Personnaz for the occasion, after George et Fanchette, broadcast in 2010, and Quai d'Orsay, released in 2013.
